FEILE 2019
07/06/2019
The National Féile Hurling competition will be hosted by Cork clubs in June and Watergrasshill GAA is honoured to be a host club. The competition will take place from Friday, June 7 to Sunday, June 9. Martin O'Riordan, Coach to the U14s is the Club lead on the Féile 2019 project.
We will be the host club to a Galway club - the Galway qualifying competition hasn't progressed far enough to give us the name of the club yet.
Preparations are underway in the club - the parents of some U14 squad members have volunteered to be host families for 2 or 3 visiting boys, Garda vetting for host families is in progress (all residents over 16 years of age of a host family must be Garda vetted), a Féile fundraising committee has been organised (to fund Feile gear for a 24 man squad and the cost of entertaining and looking after our guest club) and the enormous amount of paperwork - squad details, registration details, photo permissions, access permissions to pitches etc are underway by Juvenile Runai, Aine O'Leary.
A tidy-up and clean-up of the Clubhouse and complex has started. Féile is a great experience for players, coaches and parents. We look forward to being a host club and will be providing more details shortly.
Below is the official photo of the 2019 Feile squad - best of luck lads.
We are delighted to announce that Watergrasshill GAA are the host club to Connemara's Cois Fharraige (combined Bearna-Na Forbacha Hurling Club agus An Spidéal GAA clubs) who won their Galway final last weekend.
We look forward to welcoming the players, coaches and supporters to Watergrasshill in June.
