Intermediate Hurling relegation Playoff

Sunday 8th October

Watergrasshill 1-19

Inniscarra -18pts

Last Sunday morning Watergrasshill traveled to Blarney to take on Inniscarra in the relegation playoff , which resulted in a great win for the Hill.

All players appeared at ease and settled down early in the game knocking over a number of points with great performances form Shane O Regan, Aidan Foley and Sean O Callaghan but to mention only a few. We had a range of scorers on the day but our only goal provided by Denis O Farrell.

This team will be preparing for the league final against Castlelyons in the coming weeks and hopefully with this recent win it will give them a great boost going into the final.

Minor hurling Semi Final

Saturday 7th October

Watergrasshill 2-16

Kilshannig 2-22

Last Saturday afternoon Watergrasshill traveled to Mayfield to take on Kilshannig for yet another meeting after beating them in the North Cork Final. However, the luck was on Kilshannig side this time overcoming the Hill after Extra time. Although being beaten by 6points in the end this young team deserve huge credit. It was a very  physical demanding game , both sides missed a number of  opportunities  handed to them by failing to covert a number of  frees and in addition, a  sending off for Kilshannig did not appear to provide a window for the Hill to gain a healthy lead. This team will again meet Kilshannig in a league final in the coming weeks and the obvious ambition will be to win two out of three competitions against this strong Kilshannig side.

U11 Ger Kenny Tournament

Our U11s ended their season last Saturday  by taking part in the Bride Rovers Ger Kenny Tournament. Teams from Bride Rovers, Carrig na bhFear, Lisgoold and Watergrasshill took part in the excellently organised tournament with Bride Rovers the winners.
Our lads adjourned to Johnny's Diner for their end of season dinner.
Thanks to the parents for their support throughout the year. Special thanks to Ger O'Brien, Derek Casey and Martin O'Riordan for the huge commitment for the season.
The boys had a good year with a huge improvement in their skill, stamina and speed - here's to U12 Hurling next year,

Watergrasshill Vs Glen Rovers

Watergrasshill under 10s had a comprehensive win over Glen Rovers in the Glen last Saturday  morning with a score line of Watergrasshill 11-3 Glen Rovers 3-5.
A brilliant team effort, the lads stuck together and got a great run in their last game of the season.
The improvements can be seen in each player and they are beginning to look like a really tough and skilful team - an excellent performance by all.

U9s Blitz

Our U9’s finished their season on Saturday morning in Carrigtwohill. We had two teams in action. Both teams had comfortable victories over Blackrock and in two ding dong, high quality games against a very talented Carrigtwohill, we had one loss and one victory.

This team is very well looked after by coaches and very well supported by their parents.

Our thanks to manager Turlough Duggan and coaches Shane McCarthy, Eamon Counihan, Alan Long, Barry Joyce and Paul Casey who do an “untold” amount of work with the lads.

Watergrasshill vs Whitechurch

Last Saturday  our U7s welcomed Whitechurch to Wgh pitch for both hurling and football games .It was a great turn out for us with 28 players representing Watergrasshill and Glenville clubs with great pride .
Our young players were very dominant in both codes over our visitors .
Thanks to the parents who provided the baking for after the games and more importantly to the moms who did a great job distributing the refreshments and organising the clean up after , it is very much appreciated.

Funday in Lisgoold

Our U6 squad travelled to Lisgoolds Fun Day on Saturday afternoon , with our near neighbours once again proved themselves exceptional hosts.
The boys had a great day with Hurling and Gaelic Football matches, relays, obstacle courses and penalty shoot-outs against super hero's (not quite as agile as expected in the flesh).
Thanks to everyone that helped us out and to to Lisgoold GAA for the big effort they put in!
