CUL CAMPS   23/07/2018

GAA CUL CAMPS

Huge thanks to Shane Kingston for visiting our Cúl Camp today - not alone is he a super hurler, he’s an absolute gentleman and was wonderful to the Cúl Camp participants. We were also honored to have Cork camoige stars Amy O’Connor and Niamh O’Callaghan today and they too showed huge generosity in their time to the participants.

So, after 5 days, over 200 participants have enjoyed our 2018 Cúl Camp - they were a pleasure to have and we enjoyed every one of them. Our Cúl Camp ethos is about inclusivity, personal development, friendships and fun in a safe environment and we hope you all enjoyed it. Summer camp is not about how well you can hurl or play football or do other things - it’s about how much you can improve and develop these skills and how you spend the time with your friends and getting to know more people.
It was our biggest summer camp ever and we had to close applications and had a waiting list!

Thank you to our coaching team of young men and women who were a credit to our clubs, their families and particularly themselves - they showed the participants skills and development and are role models to our younger members.

Thanks to club members who helped out with stewarding, parking, traffic management etc.

Special thanks to Mary Lehane, Claire O’Connell, Tommy Bowe, Noel McCarthy, Eddie Enright, Adrienne McCarthy and Mark Wade who made a huge contribution to the smooth working of the week.

Finally, thanks to Áine O’Leary who ran the administration of the Cúl Camp and put in huge hours in the build up to the Camp and over the past week onsite and at home to make sure everything was perfect - we can never thank you enough for what you do for our club and players.

Time to start planning Cúl Camp 2019... (bookings are not open yet!)
