Weekly round-up
On field activities this week were limited, with our intermediates taking the headlines following their win over Blarney last Thursday evening. Great to see the lads registering their first win of the league campaign. That win takes us level on points with Blarney & Kildorrery and hopefully the lads will continue that form into the upcoming game against Ballyhea on June 14th.
Off the field, there was a great buzz around Kade’s County on Friday evening for our long overdue Glenville & Watergrasshill medal presentation. Due to restrictions over the past two years, there were a total of 9 victories marked with presentations ranging from U-14 East Cork Hurling winners in 2019 to Junior B football winners in 2021. There was also a presentation to our current members who have represented Cork at various grades in the past 12 to 24 months winning 5 All-Ireland medals along the way, with Daire O’Leary (Cork Senior & U-20), Seán Desmond (Cork U-20), Brendan Lehane, Mick O’Driscoll & Liam foley (Cork Minor) recognised for their achievements. Before making the presentation on behalf of Watergrasshill, Tommy Bowe spoke in complimenting these young men on the example they show for our younger players. Everyone associated with the club are very proud of their achievements & the example they set in terms of how hard-work, commitment, honesty and support for their team-mates are the cornerstones of their success and we wish the lads well in their future endeavors
Text Service Re-launch
This year we are re-launching our supporters text messaging service as another way to keep members up-to-date with upcoming fixtures.
If you would like a weekly supporter’s message with fixtures for Watergrasshill & Glenville hurling, football, camogie and ladies football matches please contact Paud O'Neill 0879890964 or Barry Joyce 0871847017.
There is a nominal fee of €5 per year for this service.
We would also appreciate if members could share this service with those who are not on social media as we have found in previous years that this service is very beneficial for them.
