JUVENILE HURLING CLUB

WATERGRASSHILL Juvenile Hurling Club caters for boys from the ages of 5 up to 17 years. We are a thriving community-based club where everybody has the opportunity to play, our motto is "no one left behind”. The juvenile club values, ICARE. are player centric and promotes Inclusion, Community, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.

Watergrasshill has seen unprecedented population growth in the past 20 years, it has grown 56% in the past 10 years alone, with the age demographic 39% under the age of 20. We have seen this reflected in our club numbers also with 65% of all our juvenile players 10 years old and under.

The club is a hive of activity and the talent and progress shown from our players is great to see. the future is certainly exciting for the club. We are very proud of all our players, who now have role models within the dub to look up to and aspire to. like Brendan Lehane and Michael O’Driscoll, members of the Cork minor panel last year that tasted All Ireland success. It was an unprecedented year in terms of intercounty all Ireland medals coming to the club, 4 in total in 2021, with former Juvenile club players Daire O' Leary & Sean Desmond tasting All-Ireland glory last year.

Having Hill representation on Cork teams is great for our juvenile club, for the next generation of our Cork hopefuls watching the lads in action and also for the great coaches within the club who tirelessly promote our Gaelic games.

Together with two other great GAA parish clubs. Glenville football and Watergrasshill Ladies Football and Camogie, we will continue to promote the development and playing of Gaelic games in our community but also to encourage the participation of all sectors of our community in our sporting, cultural and social activities.
