Good win for Fé-13 boys

Well done to our under 13 boys, who put in a dominant display in their P2 Shield Semi-Final against Valley Rovers in Watergrasshill on Sunday morning. The boys from the hill were in control from the off and now Blackrock who overcame Clonakilty in the other semi-final. The final is scheduled to be played on Sunday October 16th with the venue to be announced. Best of luck to the boys and hopefully they get their just rewards after a great season which has seen them grow into a fine team with skill, teamwork and comradery at the core.

Busy weekend for Fé-10 team

It was a very busy weekend for our under-10’s with games on both Saturday and Sunday. They started the weekend with games against Ballymartle in Watergrasshill. With 20 players wearing the red of the hill, they played with 2 teams of 10 aside and each team playing 2 games. They followed that up with a trip to Carrigtwohill on Sunday morning with 23 players turning out. They played 3 games against Carrig and again everyone got a good run out. It must be said that this group, as well as having big numbers turning out week in week out, are showing fantastic energy in everything they do. Be it training or go-games they always give their all. Credit too must go to the parents of this group who always ensure the kids attend every session and of course the coaching crew, under the guidance of Willie O’Leary who give their time to help to develop this group – go raibh mile maith agaibh go léir.

Junior A’s finish strong

Our Junior A team finished their season strongly, coming out with a draw in the end of a “ding-dong battle” with Sarsfields last Sunday in Carraig Na bhFear. Having started their Jamesy Kelleher Cup campaign with a loss to Cobh, the lads were determined to up their performance against Sars and they certainly did that. This game was nip and tuck throughout and having trailed by a point at the 1st water-break, we led by a point at half time 1-06 to 10pts. Sars started the second half stronger and led by 2 points at the second half water-break, but the lads from the hill never gave in and a well-deserved goal in the final quarter by captain fantastic TJ Forde meant we tied at the finish 1-15 each. Well done to the lads on a good strong finish to their campaign, a short 2021 campaign but heads held high going into the winter break.

Pitch Signage & Advertising Opportunity

As we enter a new decade, we do so with great optimism and excitement here at Watergrasshill GAA Club. Later this decade we will celebrate our centenary year, which will be a special milestone. While it's important to celebrate the past and the history of the club, it’s also important we look forward to the future. With this in mind, the club will shortly be undertaking a development project, to prepare the club for the future and further position ourselves at the center of our community. Part of this project will be the development of our existing club grounds. To that end we will endeavor to raise a revenue stream from advertising, while giving businesses the opportunity to advertise their services and reach a wider audience within our community. With the playing numbers on the increase our facility will be a busy spot over the coming years, and we would love to have your name and business positioned in the hearts and minds of all those who visit on a weekly basis. We are offering advertising space via pitch signage, 3000mm wide x 750mm high. These are a 5-year gloss laminate, flash mounted to 0.2mm skin diabond sign. If you would be interested in this opportunity to advertise and support our club, please contact Claire O Leary on 087-6239297 or any member of the club who can provide assistance.
