Weekly Notes 30.08.2021
30/08/2021
As we approach the end of another summer punctuated by pods, social distancing and hand-sanitizer, our U-11 boys enjoyed an end of summer fun day in Watergrasshill. Like all teams, our U-11’s endured the cessation of activities during the Winter months but returned to training at the end of April. They played their first game of the year in Dungourney on June 12th against Kilta Óg and they really showed some great skills which were maintained in back gardens and against gable ends over the months of lockdown. One of particular note is the scoring of points from sideline cuts by Danny Murphy, which is a skill much admired at adult grades and so is exceptional at U-11 & Go-Games grade. Two weeks later the boys travelled to Blarney, hosted Carrigaline in early June and finished the year travelling to our neighbours Bride Rovers on 13th August.
Our U-11’s finished their activities last weekend with an end of summer fun day where the focus was on fun, laughter and a bit of craic with friends. Shane O’Regan, Brendan Lehane, Seán Desmond and Mick O’Driscoll also came along to share some fun and a few autographs following their All-Ireland successes during the year. Well done to all the U-11 players on a great Go-Game year and best of luck to them in their debut Rebel Óg season next year. A massive thank you also to the boys coaches and parents who supported them throughout the year.

Pitch Signage & Advertising Opportunity
As we enter a new decade, we do so with great optimism and excitement here at Watergrasshill GAA Club. Later this decade we will celebrate our centenary year, which will be a special milestone. While it's important to celebrate the past and the history of the club, it’s also important we look forward to the future. With this in mind, the club will shortly be undertaking a development project, to prepare the club for the future and further position ourselves at the center of our community. Part of this project will be the development of our existing club grounds. To that end we will endeavor to raise a revenue stream from advertising, while giving businesses the opportunity to advertise their services and reach a wider audience within our community. With the playing numbers on the increase our facility will be a busy spot over the coming years, and we would love to have your name and business positioned in the hearts and minds of all those who visit on a weekly basis. We are offering advertising space via pitch signage, 3000mm wide x 750mm high. These are a 5-year gloss laminate, flash mounted to 0.2mm skin diabond sign. If you would be interested in this opportunity to advertise and support our club, please contact Claire O Leary on 087-6239297 or any member of the club who can provide assistance.
