Watergrasshill U14s booked their place in the Rebel Óg U14 D1 County Final with an eight-point win over Cobh in Lisgoold today.
The Hill led from the throw-in and got a dream start with 1-02 on the board before Cobh opened their account. For the remainder of the first-half, both teams traded scores but the boys from the Hill held the early advantage to lead at half-time by four points 2-06 to 0-08.
The second-half was another tight game. Cobh got the first score with an early point before the Hill replied with two more points. Cobh responded with two more points before Watergrasshill hit a purple patch scoring 1-03 with no reply to extend their lead to nine points. A further two points from Cobh and one for the Hill saw the game finish Watergrasshill 3-12 (21) Cobh 0-13.
Watergrasshill now face St Catherine's for the third time in this competition, this time in the County D1 Final. With both Catherine's and the Hill having beaten each other once in the competition to date, it promises to be an exciting Final on the weekend of October 12/13.
